What brings you to therapy?

There are a lot of reasons people decide to reach out for counseling. Sometimes there's one specific thing that brought you here. Other times, you just know that something isn't feeling right. You don't have to have a diagnosis or a perfect explanation. We can start wherever you are.

Anxiety & Stress

When your mind won't slow down, everyday things can start to feel overwhelming. We can work together to understand what's feeding your anxiety and develop tools to help you feel more in control.

Trauma & Difficult Experiences

Sometimes experiences from our past continue to affect how we see ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us. Therapy can provide a safe place to work through those experiences at your own pace.

Children & Teens

Kids and teenagers experience big emotions too, but they don't always know how to talk about them. I work with children and teens who may be struggling with anxiety, emotions, behavior, relationships, self-esteem, changes at home or school, or difficult experiences.

Relationships & Life Changes

Relationships can be complicated. So can major life changes. Whether you're struggling with communication, adjusting to a new season of life, or trying to understand patterns that keep showing up in your relationships, therapy can give you space to work through it.

Feeling Stuck

Sometimes nothing seems particularly "wrong," but you still don't feel like yourself. You may feel disconnected, overwhelmed, unmotivated, or unsure about what you want. Therapy can help you slow down, figure out what matters to you, and begin moving in a direction that feels right.

You don't have to know which category you fit into.

If you're wondering whether I can help, please reach out. We can talk about what's going on and figure out the next step together.

What is therapy actually like?

If you've never been to therapy before, you may have a lot of questions. What do I say? What if I cry? What if I don't know what to talk about? What if it's awkward? Those are all completely normal questions.

Your first appointment

Your first session is mostly about getting to know each other and talking about what brought you in. I'll ask questions about what's been going on, what you're hoping will change, and what you feel would be helpful. You don't need to prepare a speech or have everything figured out. Just come as you are.

After that

As we get to know each other, we'll work together on your goals. Some sessions may involve talking through something that's happening right now. Other times we might look at patterns, thoughts, emotions, relationships, or experiences from your past. I'll also give you tools and things to work on between sessions when it makes sense. But therapy isn't homework class. We're going to find what works for you.

A comfortable, judgment-free space

There is no perfect way to do therapy. You can be honest with me. You can disagree with me. You can tell me when something isn't working. My job isn't to judge you or tell you how to live your life. It's to help you understand yourself, work through what's hurting, and move toward the life you want.

Let's take the first step

Wondering if therapy might be helpful but not sure where to start? Let's talk. I offer a free 15-minute consultation where you can tell me a little about what you're looking for, ask questions, and see if we're a good fit.

Session Fee

My session fee is $125 per 50-minute individual session. I accept the following insurance: Premera, Lifewise, Regence, Aetna, Cigna and Kaiser. I offer a sliding-scale fee along with creating a superbill (if I am out of network) so you can submit to your insurance. We can meet via telehealth or in person. As an LMHCA, I practice under the supervision of a Washington-licensed mental health professional. If you have questions about fees, insurance, or whether I can help with what you're experiencing, please reach out. I'm happy to talk with you.
